1. The citation refers to Ahn’s San Francisco arrival occurring at the Angel Island Immigration station, and there is a conflict in dates. Ahn and his wife arrived in San Francisco on October 14, 1902, while the Angel Island immigration opened in 1910.

2. The citation infers that Ahn traveled to Shanghai with Syngman Rhee. Ahn traveled alone to Shanghai in 1919.
