Hi, New World Encyclopedia,
Please correct me if I’m wrong, but I’m not sure that “convinced of the truth without adequately proving their main contention” would always fit the definition of belief. There are some beliefs out there that are proven or have good evidences.

Thank you, Dallas, for your feedback. Indeed you are correct that not all beliefs lack proof. A more correct statement would be that belief does not require adequate proof. The text will be revised.
