What is the history of the Ottoman Empire doing in this article? Ottomans NEVER ruled over Chechnya. So they should not be included in this article. Instead, it ought to be replaced by that of the Persian Empire from which the Russian Empire acquired the region as a result of of the First Perso-Russian War (1801-1813).

Thank you, Dan, for your feedback. It is true that the Ottomans did not rule Chechnya. Probably the rationale for including a small section on the Ottoman Empire is that it follows a sub-section on “Civilizations in and around the Caucasus.” However, I agree that it is unnecessary. It will be removed and revisions made to improve the “History” section. Thank you again for taking the time to comment and help make NWE a valuable information resource.
