The article on F. R. Leavis contains a number of inaccuracies, not only in its general representation of his critical position but factually. For example (these are only examples) Leavis’s Readership at Cambridge was not a Downing College appointment but a University one and it expired naturally with his retirement in 1962, when he was aged 67. He resigned his Fellowship (honorary from 1962) of Downing College in 1964 as a result of a disagreement with the college about his succession.
