“Since coming to power in 2003, Saakashvili boosted spending on the armed forces and increased its overall size to around 26,000. Of that figure, 5000 have been trained in advanced techniques by U.S. military instructors. Some troops have been stationed in Iraq as part of the international coalition in the region, serving in Baqubah and the Green Zone of Baghdad.”
The above rendition of facts by US propagandists is simply false.
US terrorists invaded Iraq, not as an “international coalition”. Some countries from Eastern Europe, Ukraine, Poland, and from the south Caucasus, Georgia, were bribed by the US, to recruit their military as an auxiliary force in the occupation of Iraq!
Thank you, Zorro, for your comment.
It seems the article is somewhat out of date and will be revised appropriately.
However, your accusation against the US is not quite accurate – international forces were not only from Eastern Europe. The initial forces included troops from the United Kingdom, Australia and Poland, later joined by troops from Eastern and Western European nations, as well as from Asia, Oceania, and Central America.
