We noticed that the image of Jan van Riebeeck is not correct. The portraitsitter is changed in or before 1992 to ‘Portrait of a man, thought to be Bartolomeus Vermuyden (1616/17-1650). [object number SK-A-808]
If you want to use an image of Jan van Riebeeck please contact our photoservice@rijksmuseum.nl. We do have another painting of him: anonymous, Jan van Riebeeck (1619-77). Bevelhebber van Kaap de Goede Hoop en van Malacca en secretaris van de Hoge Regering van Batavia. [object number SK-A-805]
