The date of Cilappatikaram is not known with any exactitude. It is generally attributed to the Jain prince Ilanko Atikalage, and was probably composed in the 5th or 6th century C.E., or at least in the period 300–900 CE. I am not sure where you got the date of the 3rd century B.C.E. Unless there is a clear reference to your much earlier date, the date in the article does not appear incorrect.
