I was friends with Mary Carter Crowley (formerly Mary Kay Ash) and her husband David Crowley in Dallas. They were divorced, but then lived together in Dallas once again in the 80s. I’m wondering why your information on Mary Kay Ash does not include anything about her life as Mary C Crowley and nothing of David either.
Thank you, Mary, for your comment. It is the case the Mary Kay Ash may have been married more than three times, although the names of only three husbands are mentioned in her autobiography. The text will be revised to avoid the confusion of naming Mel Ash as her third husband.
However, I do believe that you are confusing Mary Kay Ash with Mary C. Crowley, founder of Home Interiors & Gifts, Inc. The two women were friends, and even worked together in Stanley Home Products. It was Mary who married David Crowley, thus becoming Mary C. Crowley. It appears to be Mary’s brother that Mary Kay married prior to her marriage to George Arthur Hallenbeck.
