According to this article Asshur was referenced in Ge. 10:11; however, Gen 10:11 never mentions Asshur, but refers to Nimrod as the founder of Nineveh.

Thank you, John, for your feedback. In fact, several versions of Genesis do mention Asshur as the founder of Nineveh, for example the King James Version, while others give Nimrod as the founder, or “Ninus” as is also mentioned in the article.
