Parachute Article reference to Thomas Baldwin
Is there attribution for Baldwin’s first jump in 1885.
Contemporary news articles (NY Times, San Francisco Call)
say it was January 30, 1887, Baldwin in a 1908 article
said that it was 1886.

Thank you, Roy, for your feedback. Baldwin’s first parachute jump is reported as 1885 in several places, such as the Arlington National Cemetery Website and the website of the National Aviation Hall of Fame. These citations have been added to the article.
