The Philosophical Traditions section begins “The philosophical doctrine of pragmatism can be traced back to …”. This is a bit jarring since the article begins “Peirce conceived of pragmatism, not as a doctrine, but as a methodology to clarify the meaning of concepts, … .”

Perhaps simplify the former to “The roots of pragmatism can be traced back to …”
