1.The famous fort was captured by Sardar General Gurmukh Singh Lamba from Ghakar cheif NurKhan ,father of Fazal Dad Khan in 1825.On the death of another general Mohar singh his troops and the fort was passed on to General Sardar Gurmukh singh lamba.General Gurmukh Singh was one of well known general of Maha Raja Ranjit Singh.He participated in many campaigns of Raja Ranjit Singh.He commanded cavalry troops Fauj-Khas.It was his popularity which was the sore cause for Maim brothers[J&K Rajas]and their hostile influence over Maha Raja Raja Ranjit singh. On death bed the Maha Raja realise his wrong done to his faith ful general and commissioned Raja Kharak Singh to restore his power and jagirs.
