‘to lift the nation from the ashes of communism’?
Whatever do you mean? Communism is by no means dead in Russia – it is a view espoused as an ideal by many. Your metaphorical ‘sunken state’ brings with it seriously biased implications – that Russians cannot, as a nation, find their own solutions to their own problems; that the nation is an entity separate from its intellectuals … please reword for neutrality.
