There is an error in the article. A “sea” is a large body of water. A “see” is a seat or position of authority. St. Andrew established the “see” of Byzantium, not the “Sea of Byzantium.”

Thank you for your comment pointing out that error. The article has been revised to use “see” instead of “sea” in the appropriate places in the text.
