Hi, nice article. You forgot “filk”, which has been around alot longer in science fiction fandom than youtube fanvids. Try googling “filk”. Tom Smith is a singer who also does alot of filk. Weird Al did a recent on on the new Star Wars movies – “The Saga Begins”. (cute vid on that, too). That’s standard filk. There is also non-film filk, such as I heard at Rustycon in WA a few years ago, a filk concert was performed by a botanist. I especially liked her song about the mold spores growing on the petri dish. It was quite catchy.
