User: Eric Olsen
Eric P. Olsen is a member of the Editorial Board of New World Encyclopedia. A veteran of more than twenty years in print journalism, he served as managing editor for the quarterly magazine World & I: Innovative Approaches to Peace, and as associate executive editor and editorial production director at the magazine division of the Washington Times. He has written widely on the arts, literature, music, cultural and environmental preservation, and America's freedom heritage. His feature, "Mountain Rebels: The Flight from Slavery of Jamaica's Maroons," won the 2001 Marcia Vickery Wallace Award from the Caribbean Travel Organization and the Platinum Award from the industry-leading Hospitality, Sales, and Marketing Association International, chosen from over 1,800 entries from 52 countries. He holds a B.A. in English literature (cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa) from New York University and completed a two-year graduate studies program in religious education at Unification Theological Seminary.
