Featured Article: Sergei Witte
Count Sergei Yulyevich Witte June 29 [O.S. June 17] 1849 – March 13 [O.S. February 28] 1915), also known as Sergius Witte, was a Russian statesman who served as the first prime minister of the Russian Empire, replacing the Tsar as head of the government. Neither a liberal nor a conservative, he attracted foreign capital to boost Russia's industrialization. Following months of civil unrest and outbreaks of violence in what became known as the 1905 Russian Revolution, Witte created the framework for the October Manifesto and the accompanying government communication to establish constitutional government. Assisted by his Council, he designed Russia's first constitution.

He spent most of his 22-year career in Major League Baseball (MLB) with the Minnesota Twins. He was second only to Babe Ruth in American League (AL) home runs, and was the AL career leader in home runs by a right-handed batter. Killebrew was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1984.
